Ideas for thank yous to “Front-Line” and essential workers.

As a community, organize a “Potluck in the Park” (sponsored by community organizations and members) and invite doctors, fireman, policemen and first responders.

As a family, bake a cake, cupcakes or cookies and deliver them together to your local fire station, ambulance authority, police station or other first reponders to thank them for the roles they play each day in protecting the lives in the community.

Come together as a neighborhood served by a local hospital, or location of other essential workers and first responders, to sign a really large/long banner to say thanks and deliver it as a group. Consider unrolling it and holding it up together at a time(s) of day and in an area where employees walk and enter. Add a bubble machine and noise-makers! Invite the media!

Hold a beach, park or waterway cleanup. Many parks and beaches have seen an increasing number of visitors during COVID-19, as people craved outdoor spaces. Dedicate the clean-up to bringing attention to the work of the frontline workers who brought people through the pandemic and helped make the opening of these spaces possible. Invite the media!
